Chelsie’s Star is a poem about A MOTHERS GRIEF. In remembrance of my special girl!
This emptiness that I am feeling
It rarely goes away
Not sure how I have made it
Through another day.
Reminders of you are everywhere
No matter where I go
Thoughts come back to that dreadful day
We said goodbye in the New Years snow.
You always had faith in my strength
I put on a pretty good show
All the pretending went away
The day you had to go.
You taught me, true love
And you taught me true pain
You gave me something to fight for
Chelsie, you did not go in vain.
Your smile is all around us
There is magic in your eyes
Reminding us of moments with you
in 8 x 10’s and 5 x 5’s.
Do we keep you entertained
You left us with a zoo!
You knew I would love your kids
The way that I love you
Of course, I love them fiercely
They all act just like you
It breaks my heart they won’t know their mom
The way that we all do.
You didn’t get to watch them grow
I know you wanted to.
Your brother misses you terribly
Though he tries not to let it show
After all, you were his “kepper”
We will never let that go!
I hold it all together
On faith, we’ll meet again
Surely that was not the only time
I had with my best friend
I find some comfort in where you are
GOD has placed you not too far
Every clear night sky we get
We see you in the stars. ∗∗∗
My heart will forever ache for you
There’s a hole there to keep you close
Chelsie, I know you love me
But I love YOU the most!
Miss you terribly, MOM
